When Johnny Fadlalla approached me about supporting young fashion designers in Lebanon, I didn't hesitate at all. I accepted the post of chief judge in the "BEIRUT YOUNG FASHION DESIGNERS COMPETITION". I will give the winner of this competition an internship in my studio in Beirut. For this event, I prepared the "UNIVERSE" collection, which I would like to dedicate to young designers. In 2002, when I received the František Kupka National Award for graphic expression in clothing creation, I was inspired by this artist and created a Couture collection based on his image Cosmic World. I am returning to this topic after thirteen years with new experiences and want to tell budding designers that talent alone is not enough. It is necessary to constantly work on yourself, educate yourself and move with the times. Today, people demand practical multifunctional and at the same time original creative collections. I would like to show this to young designers in my new collection - that it is necessary to respond to today's requirements and, in addition to luxurious Couture creations, come up with not only practical, but also unique creations enhanced by new technologies. It is wonderful when a person can do work that he enjoys, but at the same time he has to try to innovate and come up with a new work that is recognizable as an author. I am very happy that, thanks to 35 years of experience in Lebanon, I can create and do such amazing work that fulfills me and at the same time gives me the opportunity to communicate with the world and motivate others.
